The San José–Evergreen Community College District (SJECCD) Foundation, in partnership with World Food Movement, is proud to launch

Inspired by his father’s belief in supporting the grassroots of education, Toby Echelberry established the Earl Echelberry Memorial Scholarship at Evergreen Valley College and San José City College to help students pursue their academic and creative goals.

After surviving a perilous journey as a Vietnamese boat person, Dan Pham found a new beginning at San José City College. Now a successful engineer, he has established an endowment to provide the same “lifeline” of support to the next generation of underprivileged students.

Dr. Misty Stroud, Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs at San José City College, believes education should serve as a pathway to opportunity rather than a system students must struggle to navigate. Through the Women in STEM Scholarship and the Single Parent “Rising While Raising” Scholarship, she is helping remove barriers and expand access for students.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy has committed $45,000 to support scholarships for students in San José City College’s Trades Orientation Program, strengthening the regional pipeline of workers entering the electrification workforce.
