The San José–Evergreen Community College District (SJECCD) Foundation, in partnership with World Food Movement, is proud to launch a pilot initiative at Evergreen Valley College aimed at expanding access to nutritious meals for students.
Running from April 21 through May 12, 2026, this pilot will provide free, fresh vegetarian meals every Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Central Green. Through this effort, up to 150 meals will be distributed weekly, supporting student well-being and helping address food insecurity on campus.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to student success that extends beyond the classroom. By meeting basic needs and fostering a sense of care and community, the pilot explores sustainable, community-centered approaches to supporting students in meaningful and lasting ways.
The SJECCD Foundation is proud to collaborate with partners, like World Food Movement, who are equally dedicated to equity, access, and innovation in service to our students. As the pilot progresses, insights gathered will help inform future opportunities to expand and sustain this work.
We invite the campus community to join us and experience the impact of this initiative firsthand.
