San José City College, in partnership with Working Partnerships USA (WPUSA), recently launched a specialized cohort within the Trades Orientation Program (TOP) designed to prepare students for careers in the growing electrification and clean energy workforce.
Through a $100,000 investment, San José Clean Energy (SJCE) is supporting scholarships for TOP students who are residents of the City of San José. The funding helps remove financial barriers so students can focus on completing their training and preparing to enter registered apprenticeship pathways in the building trades.
This initiative reflects San José City College’s continued commitment to workforce development and career education, while helping build a pipeline of skilled workers who will support the region’s transition to electrification and clean energy infrastructure.
“The San José Clean Energy TOP Scholarship advances an equitable clean energy transition by supporting local students as they complete a pre-apprenticeship pathway into the building trades.”
